Application purpose:
- For sealing gaps
- To increase the fire resistance of fire gates, doors, smoke dampers, hatches, fireproof safes, etc
Characteristics:
- there is a self-adhesive layer;
- extension: 900%;
- the fire resistance limit is 240 minutes;
- service life: 25 years (subject to operating conditions).
Principle of operation
When the temperature rises to +150 °C and above, the fire-retardant material from which the tape is made swells, due to which the gaps between the fire door frame and the leaf are filled. This prevents smoke and fire from entering the adjacent room.
Exploitation:
- structures with fire-resistant tape are inspected at least once a year;
- during inspection, it is necessary to make sure that there are no unstuck sections of the tape, as well as mechanical damage to the tape;
- if there are peeled off areas, the surface must be degreased and glued with rubber glue;
- if there is mechanical damage, then it is necessary to remove the damaged area with a construction knife (with an overlap of 2-3 cm), and then stick a new tape without butt gaps.
Installation recommendations:
- installation is carried out at temperatures from -10 to +60 ° C;
- the installation site is pre-cleaned of dust and dirt, degreased;
- there should be no gaps at the joints of the pieces of tape;
- when gluing, the tape is tightly pressed against the surface; for reliability, the butt joints and the ends of the tape can be glued with rubber glue;
- the tape is installed without visible distortions and gaps; it may be necessary to use rags, a White Spirit type degreaser, scissors or a construction knife, a marker, a stepladder.
